Other Considerations
Mechanical Considerations
Your subsea application will determine the depth rating and material requirements.
Aluminium and plastics are generally good for 500m and less.
Duplex stainless steel is usually used for up to 3000m - but is heavy. Here at SubC, we use Titanium for the majority of our designs, which is rated up to 6000m.
If you were deploying for weeks to months, even if the depth is only 300m or 1000 feet, then you should consider Titanium and plastics for corrosion proofing. It is also very light weight.
IP Video Standards
Internet protocol (IP) cameras are a versatile live streaming solution. They are the standard in the industry because they simplify subsea connections and multiplexers.
An IP camera outputs video and data over an Ethernet connection and is simpler than analog video standards. Since it is a digital standard, there is no information lost due to noise.
