SubC Software License and Updates

SubC Rayfin camera and inspection technologies are software-defined. This means they get more powerful over time. Through customer interviews and feedback, new features and capabilities are developed each year. Only customers who are part of the Annual Success Program will receive these new features with our software releases.

Software Maintenance Period

While your software will remain operational beyond the first year, only members of the Annual Success Program will have access to the latest and most advanced software features available.

Your software Maintenance Period is 1 year from the shipping of the product or the start of the Annual Program. During this period, the Client can download updates. The Software will not stop working after that Maintenance Period date comes to pass. However, if you install a software version that is newer than your Maintenance Period date, then your SubC Software will STOP working and you will need to re-install the previous version.

When to Upgrade Software

Software upgrades beyond the complimentary first year are exclusive to members of the SubC Annual Success Program. SubC Imaging will notify program members of any available upgrades.

We recommend that you install the latest released SubC software upgrades as soon as possible, however, it is not recommended to do so if you are currently using a previous version on an active project.

It is best practice to install software upgrades on your products after your current Project is completed / before your next project begins. Give yourself time to test the new features, and ensure all existing features and functions still work as you would expect.

How to Upgrade Software

Instructions for upgrading software for your product are contained in the matching manual on the SubC Client Help Center when available.

To ensure a smooth upgrade process and minimize potential issues, we advise using a LAN network connection instead of VSAT or 4/5G networks for download and installation. This helps maintain a stable and reliable connection, reducing the risk of interruptions during the upgrade process.

License Types

Physical Key - The DVR+O application will only run when CodeMeter key is plugged into the system. This allows moving the software to different PCs.

Digital Key - SubC’s support team can lock the software license to a PC. Useful when the software will only ever run on the same PC.
