Data Input and EXIF
The Rayfin can receive external NMEA data from Topside and Subsea sensors. The controls to set up topside sensors are in the Rayfin software. Most often this would be a GPS sensor.
UDP or TCP output sensors require an IP address and port number
Serial output sensors require the comm port number and baud rate
The information is stored in the “\Media\Data” folder in the form of a .csv file
Connecting a Topside NMEA sensor
Click the Data Input icon on the main interface
Click the plus (+) button
Choose the source type (UDP/TCP/Serial)
Enter connection information (IP and port number or comm port number and baud rate) then click the Connect button
EXIF GPS Location
If the incoming data has a standard NMEA GPS string that contains $GPGGA then the GPS latitude and longitude will get stored in EXIF data of JPEG photos and in the .CSV log file.
